Yoroi Mogami do gusoku, Edo period (1603 - 1868)
This exceptional and magnificent armor consists of a 64-plate sabiji suji bachi kabuto with heichōzan bachi and a multi-part tehen kanamono in the form of a "wheel of Buddha's teachings" rinpō made of shakudō alloy. Another original element is the fukigaeshi, shaped in the shape of the kuwagata and covered - like the mabizashi - with light-colored deerskin. They bear the shakudō ancestral kamon emblem in the form of a manji swastika. The helmet has a ring for the identification flag kasa jirushi no kan on the rear part and a four-part shikoro with kiritsuke grooves
The high-quality sabiji menpō with a powerful moustache and yak hair beard is in the me no shita bō style and has a more archaic two-part tare with multi-colored lacing, fukurin from shakudō and rich multi-colored mimi ito.
The mogami dō cuirass is laced like the entire armor in the sukage style with a light blue ito, the sode shoulder straps are connected in the older style with a decorative agemaki knot with an agemaki no kan ring, located on the back side of the armor. The sode are large in size and again with openwork (sukashi) forging from shakudō alloy, evoking the high rank of the owner of this armor. The sode armor sleeves are in the Shino style, the greaves are tsutsu suneate. The set is completed with kegutsu fur boots.
Note: Although the armor is attributed to the Edo period, it bears the morphology of armor made until the mid-16th century, which is very nice. It is in very good condition.
