Kabuto

The kabuto helmet is the most important component of the armor and was historically sometimes displayed on its own. As with armor, there were differences between simple, strictly functional helmets and the ornate, decorated helmets of commanders and high-ranking warriors, demonstrating the high level of skill among Japanese medieval and premodern armourers.
